Football Party Ideas!

Our son just turned two, and since he’s been obsessed with football for the last few months, we landed on a football theme for his party! Whats so wonderful about his birthday, is that it’s just before the Superbowl, so stores had extra football themed goodies out! We even called his birthday party his “two-perbowl!”

These party ideas could work for a regular tailgate party too, but some of the things are more tailored to a toddler birthday party.

We had his party at a local park (brave of us to do in January!!), and even though it was cold, the sun was out and we had everyone bundle up. I usually like to host things somewhere free (home, park, etc.) because it leaves more budget for the fun stuff like decor + food!

Below are some of the details that made his party extra fun! You can shop some of the goodies for the party here.

Food:

-Fruit, kolaches, Round Rock donuts (a classic!) and of course, the chocolate football cake Davis kept asking about! (we like doing morning bday parties because breakfast is a little more cost effective/easy in my opinion!)

-We also did coffee, tea, and juice

Decorations:

-My goal was a lots of DIY for this party! I’ve got some extra fabric and made another banner (we did this last year too) with the phrase “Davis is going for TWO!”

-Flowers, flowers, flowers! I’m a big fan of a diy flower arrangement to add some color

-Since this party was in the park + lots of toddlers, we got this fun inflatable field goal thing. It was fun, but we didn’t use it much!

Other fun:

As always, we brought our polaroid camera and got a few pictures! We recreated some from last year and it is SO fun to see how Davis and his friends have grown up and changed in the last year! We will cherish these photos!

We also did party favors (mini foam fingers I found at Target, football koozies, and DIY “flags”), but I forgot to tell people to take them and we ended up with most of them at home. Davis will love playing with them + we can use them for football watch parties in the future!
