Football Cake DIY

It’s our football obsessed son’s 2nd birthday AND the Superbowl is just over a week away! So, when I was beginning to plan our son’s party, I came across this football cake on Pinterest and just had to try my own version of it! You can shop all of our football party decorations/supplies here!

Ingredients:

-1 box of chocolate cake mix + everything the box says you need (for us it was 3 eggs, veggie oil and water)

-1 round 9” cake pan

-chocolate frosting

-white and green tube icing (we used this)

Instructions:

Bake two 9” round cakes and let them cool.

Cut the middle out of both cakes (see picture below, I cut about an inch out of the middle of the cake).

Put the two halves together and stack the other two halves on top.

Frost the cake (make sure it is cooled all the way!)

Add green tubing around the football.

Add white decoration to football.
