Hosting the Perfect Fall Patio Hang
Its getting to that point in the summertime where I start dreaming about all things fall. Fall baking, pumpkin spice, cooler temperatures, and cozy sweaters. One of my favorite things to do in the fall, especially as the nights become cooler, is hosting our friends in our backyard!
Since we moved in, we’ve slowly been turning our yard into a space that feels cozy and fun to spend time in. What started as an ugly gravel driveway & dead grass, has really grown into a sweet space with our white picket fence, plants, and string lights that give everything a cozy glow.
As I get ready for this fall’s hosting adventures, I created a list of all the things that make the space feel extra cozy. Things like a fire pit, flannel blankets for when its extra chilly, comfy, chairs, and an outdoor projector that we can set up to watch football on! Lighting:
String lights: ours are solar powered because of where they are located in our yard! I wish we had a place to plug them in because I do think the plug in ones are brighter, but I’m thankful for this solution that still works great and creates a cozy glow.
Solar Powered Lamp: this thing is great!! I got it on sale at Target and we love it
Bug Control:
Bug Zapper Light: we love this one and it came with our mosquito traps
Citronella Candle: cozy + funcational
Incense Stick: these work surprisingly well and smell good too - I usually stick one in a plant pot
Tougher than Tom Mosquito Bait: noticed a big difference since using these consistently in our yard! And, I like that they feel less chemically/more natural!
Entertainment:
Outdoor Projector + Projector Screen: so fun to watch movies or football games on!
Cornhole Set: a classic, fun game
Firepit: trying out a propane firepit for the first time, after using a wood burning one
Plastic Glasses: cute + functional + drop proof
Furniture/Decor:
Chairs: these are so afforable!
Dining Table: perfect for gathering and eating or for setting decorations on… we got ours for free on facebook marketplace, but this one is similar and a great price!
Tablecloth: this one is the perfect fall colors
Side Table: for the projector + drinks
Pumpkin Pots: would be cute with mums!
Blankets: a small throw for when the temperatures drop
