Here & Where roundup: my weekly five week six
An even yummier pumpkin bread recipe, DIY weekend projects, and some fun fall staples for your closet. Oh, and hook em horns!!
Hi week 6! This week was a full one as we jump back into the swing of our school-year routines. Daycare, our community group starting back up through our church, and getting back into rhythms with work are helping me feeling excited about this season. Here’s what I baked, wore, made, bought, and am thankful for as we jump into September!
Baked: Pumpkin Bread with Crumble Top - recipe here!
A few weeks ago I posted a pumpkin bread recipe, and I am here to tell you that this pumpkin bread recipe is even better. It’s more moist, not too sweet, and made enough for a whole pumpkin loaf AND 12 chocolate chip pumpkin muffins! Technically, the recipe is for two loaves, but after reading a comment that someone made about using the other half of the batter for muffins, I was sold! I added milk chocolate chips to the muffins, too. Yum!
Wore: Denim Oversized Shirt
A perfect fall transition piece (although it’s still very much summer here in Texas!). I’m starting to slowly break out some fall-ish stuff, and this oversized denim top is one of my favorites… and it still fits the bump! Plus, it’s on sale right now for under $30!
Made: Dresser Flip
This week’s craft was a fun one - a dresser flip that I am in love with! After telling a neighbor I had been scouring our local Goodwill for a dresser we could use in our son’s room, she texted me saying she had one for free that they were getting rid of! It’s solid wood and in great condition, and all I did was paint it and put some new knobs on. It totally transformed the dresser + made it match our home a little better. And, it took just a few hours! I’m so happy with how this turned out and think it will be the perfect addition in our son’s room!
Bought: Clogs
After eyeing the Birkenstock Boston clogs for a few weeks, I decided to snag these Target dupes while they were on sale (for $20!). We’ll see if I wear them enough to spring for the real things, but the cheap part of me isn’t sure I’ll ever do it because I have such a hard time spending a big chunk of money on just about anything…Either way, I’m excited to add these in when it gets a little cooler outside. Here are the other options I considered, too.
Thankful: Texas Football (& college football in general)
One of my favorite things about this time of year is the return of college football! Starting the day out with coffee, breakfast tacos and watching Gameday, then having football on all day while working on stuff around the house is honestly my idea of the perfect Saturday. Yesterday, we had a fun family morning watching Gameday live in Austin. And, last night our Texas Longhorns pulled out an amazing win, so I’m feeling extra grateful today!
