Here & Where roundup: my weekly five week ten

finishing an unnecessary nesting project, chicken tortilla soup, a fall porch, and the set I’ve been living in

We officially made it to double digits! Ten weeks of the weekly five, marked by a week off because our house got hit with sickness (no fun in the last few weeks of pregnancy). We also got our first real cold front here in Austin, and this wonderful weather truly feels like one of the only things helping me get through the next few weeks. We worked in the yard, walked a bunch, and are really trying to soak up all these wonderful days before baby brother gets here!

Baked: Chicken Tortilla Soup!

One day, I need to get this recipe typed up, but for now, it’s one that just lives in my brain! Every year, I like to make this soup when we get our first cool front, and it also just so happened to sync up with everyone getting sick, which was a win. We like lots and lots of tortilla chips and shredded cheese, and I just drain the broth when we serve it to our toddler!

Wore: The Coziest Brown Set

I’ve been eyeing this set (pants + sweatshirt) from Aerie for a few weeks, and finally decided to go for it knowing it was something I could wear in pregnancy and postpartum. Since getting it in 2 weeks ago, I’ve probably worn it 5 times… that’s when you know it’s a good one! Comes in lots of colors, too.

Made: A Big Bead Board Project in our Toddler’s Room!

If you’ve ever felt the nesting urge, you know that sometimes the projects that feel soooo important are actually not all that important, but dang they just feel so necessary! This bead board project is one of those projects. Once we added it in our living room, I loved how it turned out, and really wanted to do it in our toddler’s room (that he will eventually share with baby brother). That, and the fact that we had two drywall cutouts that needed to be patched anyways, and this project felt very important. It took much longer than I thought it would (don’t most DIY projects feel this way?), but I am so happy with how it turned out and ultimately really glad we made it happen!

Bought: Mums + Pumpkins, and the Cutest Skeleton

There is almost nothing I love more than a fall porch setup… maybe even more than Christmas?! We finally bought some mums and took a trip to our local pumpkin patch to get some goodies for our porch, and I love how it turned out. I also finally got our orange wreath hung up, now that it isn’t 100 degrees out!

I also found the cutest 2 ft. skeleton that our skeleton obsessed toddler is having a lot of fun with. $10 at Target, and you can move all of his arms/legs! He has been taking him with us everywhere… a great $10 if you ask me!

Thankful: Soaking up Fam Time!

Something about everyone being sick always makes me feel so thankful for the days when we are healthy! As miserable as it can be, it always provides great perspective, which ultimately, I am thankful for. Since we’ve officially begun the countdown to baby brother’s arrival, our last few weekends as a family of 3 feel extra sweet and we are trying to do all the fun things. This weekend, we played outside (a lot!), got a last date night in, and even attended a movie night in the pumpkin patch. It was lots of sweetness!
