A Guide to Hosting Friendsgiving

Hosting Friendsgiving is one of my favorite annual traditions! Its the best way to get everyone in one place and for friends from all different walks of life to get to meet one another... its so fun bringing people together!

Here are some of my favorite tips when it comes to hosting a Friendsgiving this year!

Tip #1

Plan it before Thanksgiving actually happens! I like hosting Friendsgiving before the actual Thanksgiving holiday because often, people are kind of over the Thanksgiving food by the time the holiday ends. Doing Friendsgiving before Thanksgiving feels like a special teaser and gets me excited for the actual holiday to come!

Tip #2

Have everyone pitch in! This is an obvious one, but potluck style wins every time! Its less work for the host, and its fun to see what everyone brings! I love when people have a favorite dish they like to make and get to share it with everyone. Plus! Some of my favorite recipes are dishes friends made for Friendsgiving!

Tip #3

Have a game night! Or conversation cards! Or a bonfire! Having some kind of activity or conversation starter can be so helpful, especially if its a group of people who don't know each other! Its always fun to do some kind of activity together to make the night extra memorable.

Tip #4

Get flowers from Trader Joes! This is my go to for any kind of hosting, but making fun floral arrangements for the table with flowers from Trader Joes is one of my favorite parts of hosting Friendsgiving! I love that they usually stay beautiful long after the Friendsgiving ends and I get to keep enjoying them or send them home with friends at the end of the night.

Tip #5

Make sure you have plenty of seating! We love trying to crowd as many people as we possibly can into our little 1,100 sq. foot house. It makes it cozy and is fun to get everyone around a big table (or two!)

And there ya have it! Happy hosting!
